During the Falklands War in 1982, the main equipment worn by British soldiers was military wear made of Disruptive Pattern Material (DPM). This DPM camouflage pattern is called the Falklands Parka after the war.
There is a Solway zipper that was made using DPM, which was produced by the British company Barbour around the same time as the war.
At AUBERGE, we have focused on the DPM Solway zipper to create a special piece of clothing that recreates the look of the zipper as it ages and reconstructs it with our own unique interpretation.
This material can be considered a work of art, made from ultra-high density cotton cloth that has been treated with DPM and oiling.

The reproduction of the details and the reconstruction using the relaxed pattern that is characteristic of the brand are of amazing perfection, but what is particularly noteworthy is the original fabric.
The base fabric is a white, extra-high density fabric made to order by Auberge, with even more weaves than Ventile. This is sent unprocessed to a printing factory in Kyoto, where it is printed with a 1960s DPM camouflage pattern using pigments.
After that, we apply a shadow treatment to the fabric, which is a kind of reproof dyeing, by impregnating it with colored oil. The finished fabric, which has gone through many processes, has a unique finish.
With a faintly visible camouflage pattern and a soft oiled finish, it is a luxurious piece for adults that is also practical, with waterproof and heat-retaining properties.
