Two colors of AUBERGE's silk scarf "LOUVRE" have arrived: BLACK x VIRIDIAN GREEN and CHARCOAL x GOLD. Both feature a collage design of motifs from the traditional French fabric "Toile de Jouy," printed on 100% silk.

A scarf, as an item, is a "painting of fabric" that wears design in itself. AUBERGE quietly imbues each scarf with the textile culture of 18th-century France.

"Toile de Jouy" refers to cotton, linen, and silk fabrics produced in the late 18th century in Jouy-en-Josas, a town near Versailles in France. In the 1760s, German businessman Christoph-Philippe Oberkampf opened a workshop there and produced textiles using copperplate transfer printing techniques, printing intricate landscapes, rural scenes, myths, and depictions of plants and animals in single colors on white or light-colored backgrounds.

The defining characteristic of these designs is the regular arrangement of delicate motifs drawn with thin lines, leaving ample white space. While the variations are diverse—from idyllic rural landscapes and hunting scenes to characters from Greek mythology and tropical plants and animals—they consistently maintain the style of "storytelling designs depicted in monochrome prints."

Its popularity never waned after the French Revolution, and from the 19th century onward, it spread throughout the world, continuing to be referenced in interior design, fashion, and textile design today, making it one of France's representative design legacies. AUBERGE incorporates these noble motifs into scarves through collage, connecting them to contemporary fashion.

Made from 100% silk, this scarf boasts a luxurious sheen and a smooth, almost clinging feel against the skin, giving it a distinctive presence. Its moderate thickness creates a beautiful volume when worn around the neck, and it maintains its shape well.

Measuring 81.5cm square, this single square piece of fabric can be worn as a scarf around the neck, tied in the hair, used as a decoration on a bag, or even spread on a table—its versatility allows it to be transformed from casual to formal simply by changing how it's worn.

A deep viridian green print on a chic black background. Viridian is a deep green with a bluish tint, and when combined with black, it creates a mysterious yet dignified impression. The noble motif of Toile de Jouy stands out beautifully against this color scheme.

This charcoal print on a chic background gives it a more formal impression than the other two color options. The combination of gold and charcoal blends naturally into autumn and winter jacket styles and formal occasions. At the same time, when paired with casual denim or sweatpants, it adds a touch of sophistication.
