Aloha Blossom is an aloha shirt brand run by Kiyosaku Uehara, an Okinawan artist who is well known for his work with Monpati. In Okinawa, aloha shirts are sometimes worn on special occasions such as weddings. Wanting to wear something well-made, he has teamed up with designer Tomotaka Onozaki to create the finest aloha shirts that lift your spirits.
This time, we would like to introduce to you a new line of ladies' dresses, which are being stocked for the first time at Alzac Kamakura.

RYUKYU SOUVENIOR DRESS - MINT
Original textiles drawn by tattoo artist W-OKI KENTA. The motif is the bandanas that were made as souvenirs for the US mainland when Okinawa was still a US territory, and the design features women dancing in Ryukyu clothing, American soldiers, palm trees, Okinawan graves, etc.
The fabric is the same as the Aloha shirts, Aloha Blossom's original 100% rayon fabric, which has a drape and a beautiful sheen. It feels cool when you put your arms through the sleeves, and it doesn't get sticky even when you sweat, making it the perfect material for the humid Japanese summer.
This dress has an open front, so it can be worn as a wrap. It also comes with a waist ribbon made of the same material, so you can tighten it at the front to change the silhouette, making it very versatile.

This original textile is made using the Chusen dyeing technique, which has been used since the Meiji period. The beautiful finish is a mottled mix of navy, yellow, and white.
Chusen dyeing is named after the method of pouring dye into a container called a kettle and pouring it into a mold. It has a unique look where colors mix together like tie-dyeing, and because the dye penetrates to the core of the thread, it is characterized by vivid dyeing on both sides. It is a traditional Japanese dyeing technique that can also be seen on tenugui cloths.
