The "MESTARI," born in 1977 as the world's first running shoe to feature air cushioning, has been transformed into a completely new form—a slip-on—by Engineered Garments.
1. Minimalist, functional beauty achieved by eliminating shoelaces.
The biggest update this time is that the original lace-up design has been completely removed and replaced with an elastic slip-on design.
Not only are they easy to put on and take off, but the absence of laces further accentuates the texture of the suede, giving them a relaxed elegance that is reminiscent of "room shoes" or "moccasins," despite being sneakers.
2. The identity of EG as depicted by "asymmetry"
The aesthetic of **"asymmetry"**, which has become synonymous with Engineered Garments, is scattered throughout this work as well.
The shoes feature alternating layers of long-napped roughout suede and smooth suede on the left and right sides.
