AUBERGE is a brand that started in 2018. The designer is Manabu Kobayashi, who became independent after gaining experience at denim manufacturers and other companies. After graduating from a vocational school, he studied abroad in France, spending his days in Paris and Nice trying on vintage clothing, antiques, and the latest fashion.
The brand name "Auberge" originates from 18th-century France and refers to an inn where guests can enjoy fine dining and a relaxing stay. As the name suggests, every item from AUBERGE offers a rich experience, making you feel pampered the moment you put it on. The style they propose is based on vintage pieces from the 1930s and 40s. They are committed to using only the highest quality Japanese materials and sewing techniques, and they draw inspiration from various cultures such as photography, art, film, music, and architecture to elevate their designs.

When discussing AUBERGE, "Caribbean Sea Island Cotton" is an essential element. Grown on the islands of the Caribbean, this cotton is the original variety of extra-long staple cotton, boasting the longest fibers of any cotton on Earth. Once highly prized as shirt fabric for the British royal family and aristocracy, it is considered the finest material in the world of cotton.
Why is Caribbean Sea Island Cotton special?
Because the fibers are extremely long, the resulting yarn is incredibly fine and uniform. Weaving this fine yarn at high density creates a luster and feel comparable to silk. Furthermore, despite being cotton, it becomes softer and more lustrous with repeated wear and washing. It offers a level of texture that is simply unattainable with ordinary cotton denim.
AUBERGE took on the challenge of applying Caribbean Sea Island cotton to denim fabric. This endeavor, said to be a "first in the denim industry," was made possible only through a deep respect for vintage denim and an overwhelming commitment to materials.

What is washable leather?
Unlike ordinary leather, this is a special type of leather that can be washed with water. Each time you wash the denim, the leather ages along with it. The joy of "nurturing" both the denim and the leather progresses simultaneously.

What is microripstop?
While typical ripstop fabrics incorporate thick reinforcing threads in a grid pattern, MARCO's micro-ripstop fabric features a meticulous design combining extremely fine (140/2) and nearly twice as thick (80/2) threads. The natural unevenness created without chemical processing results in a unique fabric texture that is thin yet firm.
