NEAT's CHINO jeans have been given their first ever finish.
Up until now, NEAT CHINO has used either the natural color of the material or a uniformly dyed color. This PD BLACK model employs a dyeing method called "pigment dyeing," which is a first for NEAT CHINO. It's a pair of jeans with a look that's neither beige, black, nor faded brown—a look unlike anything before.
Therefore, the core of the fabric remains white.
The fade deepens with each wear.
— What is pigment dye (PD)?
Pigment dyeing is a dyeing technique that uses pigments to color the surface of fabric. Unlike common reactive dyes and sulfur dyes, which dye the inside of the fibers, pigment dyeing fixes the color to the surface of the fabric.
This structure, where only the surface is dyed, is the most distinctive feature of pigment dyeing. Because the dye does not reach the core of the fabric, the color gradually fades from areas prone to friction, such as seams, folds, and edges. The result is a "faded" look—a trace of time that only well-worn clothing possesses.
Even when brand new, you can already sense its potential. A deep, uneven black. It appears flat, yet the fabric's texture shifts depending on how the light hits it. This "imperfection" of PD BLACK is its charm. With each wear, you feel as if your body's movements are being imprinted onto the pants.

The silhouette is the same as the classic NEAT CHINO. The deep double pleats at the front are its most iconic feature. It offers a refined, relaxed fit around the waist and tapers gently towards the hem. It has a classic look that sets it apart from ordinary chinos.
The stitching meets the standards of dress pants. The meticulous piping on the inside and the structure that enhances the fit around the waist—these are all hallmarks of NEAT's craftsmanship as a brand specializing in pants. While the pigment dyeing process gives the exterior its distinctive look, the careful tailoring on the inside supports the comfort and refined silhouette.
