The impression a cap gives to a person changes completely depending on the material it's made of. Cotton caps are casual and easy to wear. But with AUBERGE's CAP CUIR, the atmosphere is different from the moment you put it on.
"CUIR" means "leather" in French. As the name suggests, this cap is entirely made of calf leather—leather from a three-month-old calf. Moreover, it's not just any calf leather, but "nubuck leather," which has a slightly napped surface.
The subtle roughness of nubuck combined with the softness characteristic of calfskin.
The moment you put it on your head, you know this isn't just any ordinary cap.
— What is nubuck calf leather?
Calf leather is the hide of a calf less than three months old. Compared to adult cowhide, the fibers are denser and more evenly packed, resulting in a smooth and uniform surface finish. It is thin, lightweight, and highly flexible—making it one of the finest types of leather.
Nubuck is calf leather that has been given a light napping treatment. By sanding the surface with sandpaper to create a napped texture, a unique texture is created that is somewhere between suede and smooth leather. It has a calm, matte sheen to the eye and a slightly warm feel to the touch.
Nubuck leather is more water-resistant than suede and less prone to showing scratches than smooth leather. While ensuring practicality as an everyday cap, it also possesses a luxurious look unique to leather, setting it apart from casual cotton caps.

The AUBERGE CAP CUIR is a 6-panel cap with a shallow crown. Compared to typical caps, the crown isn't too high, so it doesn't make your head look big when you wear it. "Well-balanced" is the most accurate way to describe it.
The structure, created by sewing together six panels, ensures that the panel lines are symmetrical when viewed from the front, resulting in a natural, three-dimensional silhouette. The brim is just the right length—neither too short nor too long. Despite being made of leather, it possesses a beautiful, understated shape as a cap.
