Gabardine is a high-density woven fabric characterized by its steeply angled twill weave (diagonal ridges). It has a smooth, lustrous surface and a fine texture. While it is woven from various materials such as wool, cotton, and polyester, wool gabardine has a particularly long history as a material for dress pants.
