INTÉRIM / BOURGERON
French work trousers.
Made with deadstock fabric from LVMH
French workwear from the 1930s.
Two styles of INTÉRIM's BOURGERON French work trousers have arrived. They are available in MELANGE WOOL DOUBLE FACE and DEADSTOCK WIDE CORDUROY, both in black only.
The two styles, while made from completely different materials, share a common background. Both fabrics are Italian-made, carefully selected from the deadstock collection of the French LVMH Group. Both styles are modern reinterpretations of the "Beaujon trousers" worn by the French military and civilians in the 1930s.

In 1930s France, soldiers and farmers alike,
It refers to the work clothes worn by laborers.
That universality is what attracted INTÉRIM.
— What are Beaujolais pants?
A bourgeon is a general term for work clothes widely worn in France in the 1930s. It was a uniform-like garment worn by soldiers, farmers, factory workers—regardless of occupation—in all kinds of workplaces in France.
These Beaujolais trousers feature unique details born from the functional design of the time. Most notably, the distinctive stitching structure of the crotch—a practical product devised by craftsmen of the era to achieve both ease of movement and durability. INTÉRIM faithfully reproduces this crotch detail using modern sewing techniques.
Distinctive detail in the crotch area —a sewing structure in the crotch area that faithfully reproduces the atmosphere of the time.
Linen waistband lining and pocket lining —inheriting the use of linen found in traditional French trousers.
Belt loops – a modern design element intended for urban use.
Back cinch back – a functional detail that allows you to adjust the waist size.
Custom-made iron buttons and buckles —the careful selection of materials, emphasizing texture, is common to both styles.
— The background of the LVMH deadstock fabric
The two fabrics share a common background: they are Italian-made fabrics carefully selected from the deadstock collection of the French LVMH Group.
Deadstock refers to fabrics that were produced but have remained unused and dormant. The deadstock collection held by the LVMH Group (a giant French fashion conglomerate that owns Louis Vuitton, Dior, Fendi, and others) contains some of the world's finest Italian fabrics. INTÉRIM has selected two fabrics from this collection that are most suitable for the context of Beaujolais trousers.
Using deadstock fabric means that once that fabric runs out, it's gone. The same fabric will never be made again—that's what makes these two styles of pants a once-in-a-lifetime item.
— I. MELANGE WOOL DOUBLE FACE DEADSTOCK FABRIC "BOURGERON"
This Italian-made melange wool was selected from LVMH's deadstock collection. Using high-quality virgin wool fine-count yarn and a double-faced weave, it is a fabric that combines a rich heathered texture with an elegant crispness.
"Melange" refers to a fabric made from yarn blended with fibers of different colors and materials, resulting in a complex color expression unlike that of a single-color fabric. "Double Face" refers to a double-layered woven fabric where both the front and back sides can be used, giving it a high density and a substantial feel. The combination of these elements results in a fabric that is black, yet not just a simple black—possessing a deep and nuanced appearance.

— II. DEADSTOCK WIDE CORDUROY "BOURGERON" FRENCH WORK TROUSER
Also selected from LVMH's deadstock collection, this is Italian-made cotton corduroy. It features a firm texture and a rich, three-dimensional rib pattern, and the deep shades of black stand out depending on the lighting and shadows.
The "ridges" of corduroy are not simply a texture; it's a material that shows completely different expressions depending on the direction of the light. When viewed from the front, it appears as a matte black, but when light hits it from an angle, a silvery sheen runs along the ridges—this change in light and shadow is the greatest charm of corduroy. While the wool version, MELANGE WOOL, has a heathered look and elegant crispness, this corduroy version has a more rugged, workwear-like appearance.

— About dressing
BOURGERON (WOOL) × Knit × Jacket (in the context of a dress)
BOURGERON in melange wool blends seamlessly into more dressy outfits. Pair it with a HERILL Golden Cashmere pullover or an INTÉRIM silk noil shirt, and layer it with a Pelemele COVERALL JKT or an AUBERGE corduroy jacket. The elegant crispness of the wool pulls the whole look together.
BOURGERON (CORDUROY) × Sweatshirts & T-shirts (Casual Context)
The corduroy BOURGERON jacket blends seamlessly into a workwear context, even when paired with casual tops. When worn with a simple white T-shirt or a DRESS turtleneck, the corduroy texture takes center stage. It also pairs naturally with an EG Reuter jacket, fitting within the workwear context.
Compare and choose between the two types.
While sharing the same silhouette and details as the original, the MELANGE WOOL version is more dressy, while the DEADSTOCK CORDUROY version is more casual. The choice between the two depends on how you plan to style them with tops and jackets. Both are priced at ¥41,800, and this is your only chance to get your hands on LVMH deadstock Italian fabric.
