HERILL's HL RUGGED DENIM SPLASHWORN has arrived. Based on the brand's classic rugged denim, this piece features a dynamic splash paint finish.

When I first picked it up, I found myself staring at it for a while. Randomly scattered paint splatters adorn the 13.5-ounce selvedge denim. It's a garment that sits somewhere between the ruggedness of workwear and calculated art.

We use high-quality 13.5-ounce selvedge denim, which has a moderate thickness and a soft texture.

Selvedge denim refers to denim woven on old-fashioned shuttle looms. The edges of the fabric (selvedge) are selvedge (with selvage), making it less prone to fraying and giving it a high density. Compared to denim mass-produced on high-speed large looms, it differs in density, texture, and how it ages over time. The 13.5-ounce weight is a little heavy for summer wear, but just right for autumn and winter wear. This is where the true characteristics of real denim come into play: it learns your body's movements and conforms to your body the more you wear it.

Furthermore, it features a realistic vintage finish, giving it a rich texture that makes it look like a well-worn garment, even though it's brand new. This is where the "WORN" part of the name SPLASHWORN comes in.

Another key element of SPLASHWORN is the randomly scattered splash paint. As the name "SPLASH" suggests, the denim surface is etched with traces that look like paint has burst and splattered.

Although the word "random" was used, it is actually a calculated paint job. The fact that it looks random yet maintains a beautiful overall balance is not by chance, but the result of intention. It looks haphazard, yet it is orderly—maintaining that delicate balance was the greatest challenge in designing this denim, and it is the core of the skill that HERILL has put into this garment.

The splash paint will gradually change with repeated wear and washing. The outline of the paint will soften, and combined with the fading of the denim, it will become "a pair that is uniquely yours" over time—this is the meaning of the statement in the product description: "Due to the characteristics of the material and processing, the color and texture will change with repeated wear and washing. Please enjoy the unique changes that this product is unique to."
