2026AW AUBERGE / NIETZSCHE.
AUBERGE / NIETZSCHE,
OFF CREAM & GRAY TOP.
Wear the father of modern philosophy through embroidery.
I received the AUBERGE NIETZSCHE sweatshirt. It comes in two colors: OFF CREAM and GRAY TOP.
Last season, we received a sweatshirt featuring Beethoven as its motif. Following the success of that popular item, we are now releasing the second installment in AUBERGE's original series of sweatshirts featuring great figures. This time, the motif is Friedrich Nietzsche, known as the father of modern philosophy.

To imbue that portrait not with a print, but with embroidery—
This is the second installment in AUBERGE's series featuring great figures.
— The choice of embroidery over printing
In the world of vintage sweatshirts, there's a category called the "Great Figures Series." These sweatshirts feature prints of the faces of great figures—musicians, writers, philosophers, and so on. They were produced in large numbers, mainly in the United States, during the 1970s and 80s, and remain highly popular in the vintage market today.
AUBERGE, while respecting the context of the "Great Figures Series," chose embroidery over print. The portrait of Nietzsche, expressed through delicate embroidery, possesses a presence on a completely different level than a print. The three-dimensionality created by the overlapping threads, the depth of color, and the changes in expression depending on how the light hits it—the technique of embroidery gives a new depth to the portrait of Nietzsche.
— About sinker knit fleece material
The fabric uses a sinker-knit terry cloth material. "Sinker knitting" refers to a fabric woven using a special sinker (a part of the knitting machine), which results in a finish where the loops on the reverse side stand up evenly and firmly.
This characteristic of having "firmly standing loops on the inside" creates a rich texture and feel similar to high-quality sweatshirt fabric known as loopback fleece. The comfortable feel of 100% cotton and the three-dimensional surface created by the sinker knit—this is a high-quality fabric that sets it apart from ordinary sweatshirts.
- This piece features delicate embroidery depicting Friedrich Nietzsche, the father of modern philosophy.
- Embroidery, not print—a portrait with three-dimensionality and depth created by overlapping threads.
- Sinker knit terry fabric—the loops on the inside stand up firmly, creating a rich texture similar to loopwheeled terry fabric.
- Relaxed raglan sleeves—no shoulder seams for a comfortable fit.
- Subtle vintage detailing on the collar and cuffs creates a sophisticated and tasteful look.
- 100% cotton - soft and comfortable to wear.
— I. NIETZSCHE — OFF CREAM
This off-cream sweatshirt has a soft, almost natural white color. This color, reminiscent of the aged tones of vintage sweatshirts, combined with the Nietzsche embroidery, creates an atmosphere like a vintage collector's item. The more you wear it, the deeper the texture becomes, and the warmth of this off-cream color increases.

— II. NIETZSCHE — GRAY TOP
Gray Top is a classic gray color for sweatshirts, but it has a complex, melange-like tone. The name GRAY TOP comes from the "dull depth" of gray found in vintage sweatshirts. The Nietzsche embroidery placed on top of the gray creates a calm presence that is different from OFF CREAM. Of the two colors, this one has the most vintage sweatshirt feel.

— About dressing
NIETZSCHE (OFF CREAM) x Denim Chinos (A statement piece on its own)
The simplest way to wear it is to wear the off-cream Nietzsche sweatshirt on its own. When paired with HERILL's denim loose pants or INTÉRIM's BOURGERON pants, the warmth of the sweatshirt and the texture of the pants interact in a harmonious way. Since the embroidery is the main focus, keep the bottoms simple.
NIETZSCHE (GRAY TOP) × Jacket (as an inner layer)
This outfit shows how to wear it as an inner layer under a Pelemele COVERALL JKT or an EG Reuter jacket. The layered look, with the raglan sleeves of the sweatshirt peeking out slightly from the jacket's cuffs, is one of the best ways to wear a sweatshirt as an inner layer. The vintage-like gray of the GRAY TOP goes well with any jacket color.
Vintage sweatshirt style
Staying true to the original context of the "Great Figure Sweatshirt," this style features a relaxed, laid-back look. Pairing it with wide-leg denim or cargo pants, and letting the hem of the sweatshirt touch the pants, creates a relaxed, vintage vibe. Combining it with NEEDLES' Hizadel pants is also a typical ARZACH look where street style and culture intersect.
