CENTINELA TRADITONAL ARTS is one of the three Chimayo weaving brands along with ORTEGA'S and TRUJILLO'S.
This brand was founded in Chimayo Village, New Mexico in 1982 by Irvin Trufilio, who became independent from ORTEGA'S. Chimayo weaving was born around the 17th century from a unique culture that mixed the cultures of Native Americans and Spanish immigrants, and we continue to make products by inheriting that tradition and manufacturing method.
