History of RockyMountainFeatherbed
It's a story from the birth of the brand to its disappearance and reprint.
RockyMountainFeatherbed was born in the 1960s in a place called Jackson hole in the northwestern part of Wyoming, USA.
Known as one of America's leading ski resorts, it is also the gateway to Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park, making it a world-famous tourist destination.
Wyoming is located in the mountainous region of the western United States.

Also, as the brand name suggests, this area is a region that straddles the Rocky Mountains.
The Rocky Mountains are very large, extending from the northernmost part of British Columbia, Canada, to the vicinity of Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA, with a total length of 4,800 km.
The total length of Japan is about 3000km, so it is a much longer mountain range.
About the founder
The founder is Mr. CUB SCHAFFER. He graduated from NASA-sponsored NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) in Wyoming.
NOLS is a school focused on techniques for activities in mountainous areas, and astronauts are also famous for being trained in this NOLS. In a stressful environment such as winter mountains, the training involves carrying heavy luggage on your back and moving to your destination while changing leaders every day while the danger of an avalanche or distress is approaching. It is a very hard thing to improve your judgment and leadership.
After graduating from a school that produces such outdoor specialists, CUB SCHAFFER begins manufacturing.
Rocky Mountain Featherbed is a down wear that combines the outdoor elements (nylon and down) that I am good at and the riding (western yoke and leather) that is my hobby, and was conceived from a unique perspective.

From brand leap to disappearance
Mr. CUB SCHAFFER started manufacturing in the latter half of the 1960s, and will continue to sell down vests, which are still standard today.
In 1974, we were among the first to adopt GORE-TEX®, the latest high-tech material at the time, and expanded our product lineup, including making mountain parkas.
Around this time, it began to be sold to the world, and in Japan it was sold at mountaineering sports shops, and in France it was also sold at GLOBE, the predecessor shop of ANATOMICA, which is also available at our shop.
However, the brand disappeared in the late 1980s.
Rocky Mountain Featherbed has disappeared from the market.

Reprint of the brand's real name
Over time, Rocky Mountain Featherbed is back in 2005.
It was 35SUMMERS, which was my former workplace, that was revived.
Mr. Teramoto, the representative, started collecting Rocky Mountains when he was in his twenties, and now he owns more than 100 pieces, researching fabrics, accessories, and details with reference to the huge amount of materials, and successfully reproduced his real name. At the same time, it has acquired a trademark, so Rocky Mountain Featherbed has become the company's brand worldwide.
As of 2020, it has been widely deployed not only in Japan but also in the birthplace of the United States and more than 10 countries around the world, and has become a globally recognized downwear brand. In addition, we have grown as a down brand, and not only conventional outerwear, but also ultra-lightweight inner down and various other items have been born.
